Business intelligence knowledge adds value across industry.
Knowledge is central to what we do. We develop knowledge in two fundamental ways: first through the thousands of company hours put in working daily with our clients, experiencing their problems, developing solutions and facing their issues. In this way the knowledge resource at Thorogood is second to none. Ensuring we keep up to date with new developments we also place a heavy emphasis on training.

Client experience
Thorogood has some clients who, driven by competitive pressures, are prepared to take greater risks with new technologies in order to generate a competitive advantage. They trust us to manage the risks for them. Thanks to this we gain very early experience of working with exciting new technologies. Problems early in the lifecycle of the software are overcome by using our most experienced staff to work closely with the software vendor's development team. In this way clients get added value, and here at Thorogood we stay at the sharp end of the latest software.

Training
Consultants attend 'Boot Camps', usually in the US, where consultants get together with vendors' software development teams over several intensive days. Here they exchange ideas and insights into the technology and its application.

All consultants are required to continuously increase their skills in software vendors' technologies; study expenses are paid, staff are given time off for study leave, and sent on specialist courses.

When we put together a project team for a client assignment we design it carefully so that we can leverage the skills of senior consultants with less senior people, who need to build their experience in the technology and the application. The client gets a cost-effective team and the junior consultants gain valuable experience. Solutions to technical problems are shared throughout the consultant teams, and anyone may ask for direct help at any time from a more expert consultant.
