SAP Business Warehouse (BW) has been an adequate rather than an outstanding BI tool, selected in instances where its tight integration with SAP's ERP offers good value, rather than by business users who value usefulness.

Its last release was much improved and offered an OLAP engine to complement its relational storage. However, the integration of the OLAP engine technology has not been entirely successful. A limited number of vendors provide third-party tools for BW, including: Business Objects and Cognos.  Crystal Analysis had been an option here but it has recently been acquired by Business Objects.
